I don't have this arr, but you're talking about a cello suite and not a lute suite. Probably that was just a typo, but just so there will be no misunderstanding.

I'm quite sure its out of print, so you may want to try to just figure out the added bass notes by listening to it or watching the video (the video will probably be easier). I've checked the major US stores (GSP, Guitar Gallery, Sheetmusicplus) and none of them carry it.

sseow on the GSI forum has the sheet and mailed it to people who were interested a few weeks ago. He had bought it in China along with a VCD-box with 6 discs of videos with Li Jie.

My old teacher has it as well, I just don't think you can purchase it new, at least not in Europe or the Americas. China, while a signatory of the Berne Convention, has not actually enforced it any serious level, so a lot of copyrighted materials are easily obtained (not just music); though technically it is a breach of copyright (heh). In any even perhaps an e-mail to sseow would be beneficial.

I tabbed this out with the Powertab Editor a while back. If you're interested in it, here's the link: (be sure to 'Save Target As')

<a href="http://ourworld.cs.com/Guitara83/BWV1007.ptb">BWV1007</a>

Keep in mind, it is a Powertab Editor file, so you'd need that program. Also keep in mind that I'm not the best with musical notation, but the tab part is accurate.

It's not a secret to anyone that China is flooded with pirate material, but it's not just China. I've bought material like this openly in Thailand, Poland and other countries as well. Actually it's not much different from how US industries infringe patents for inventions developed in foreign countries. There are shady things going on in all countries. Here there are a lot of people selling pirate software, digital TV cards etc. It's just that it's not open and you have to meet the guy at a parking lot. I don't think that is any better, it's double standard. This site is partly built around pirate material, that's how many of us found there way here, and writing at this forum we have accepted this.

As you've said most coutries have piracy problems, however the worst hits are the poorest countries. The reason for this is that the developed countires want to sell the poorer countries DVD's, CD's etc. at comparable prices and this simply cannot work, if a worker in Russia gets paid a £ a week they're not likely to go and pay £15 for a DVD. The pirates know this so sell dirt cheap copies, the same apply's for sheet music, much of it is public domain but we are still expected to pay £15+ so it can be bound with a cover. I see no problem sharing things such as sheet music(and the occassional MP3 ;) ) as long as no money is exchanged. Also this site may have information from 'other source's' but most have some reference to the original site contained within them and were provide for free on the original sites anyway.

My point with all this isn't that China are somehow unique(intellectual property theft occurs in all countries)or "bad", just that the availability of the score there doesn't mean that it's in print and that it can be purchased by someone not in China. Which is why i recommended transcribing it from the video (which someone appears to have already done); it would be faster.

It is a transcription by Manuel Ponce. It is written on the tracklist of the Parkening CD. I'm glad to see that you managed to obtain it.

jay, would you care to upload the sheet to the fileshare? I'd be happy to see it.

Hello Jay,

You live in the Netherlands, but i dont know if you speak Dutch
I am sorry to intrude, because you dont know me, but I have a request. A few years ago there was a guy called Seow who had sent transcriptions, tabs of de VCD of Li Jie, that wonderfull young guitarplayer on the guitarsalon forum. I cannot trace him anymore so would like to ask you if it is possible to get them from fou as you have requested them on the guitarsalon forum.I would be very gratefull to you.
Thanks for your attention
Jos, the Netherlands
