Agil, there was no need for spending so much time explaning this. I had to comment after witnessing Mr. Gilardion's self promotion for years and seeing Mr. Cristiano's selfpromotion regarding his new CD with Mr. Gilardino's compositions on many forums. I am a music enthusiast and know a lot about music world, and one thing I dislake is when you encourage young musicians not to concentrate on their artistic values, but to become restles selfpromoters. Note that I am not going into value of the music they are promoting (please note that I also never questioned Cristiano's skills as a musician), but the way they do it. Maybe there should be a bit more measure in it. Just for the sake of a good taste.

Maybe you messages are the watchers of the general good taste - maybe - but for sure you do not say the truth. Self promotion happens when, upon nothing or very little, one tries to obtain the consideration and the approval normally given to relevant and deserving output (if any). One is trying to self-promote when, having nothing or very little to show, acts so as to fool people into believing that he is a great player, a relevant composer, an influential teacher. I challenge you to quote from any of my messages - with avoiding extrapolation, of course - a single sentence where a single word of self.appreciation is expended: just one, where I said: careful, people, I did this and this is very good. I remain in wait.
I gave informations about the existence of some works of mine, it is true: is there anything wrong with this? Considering that I expended much less space and attention for my own works than for other composer's works - from Respighi to the authors of The Andrés Segovia Archive - of which I have been the discoverer and the editor, what and why does disturb you with the information that I have commemorated my old friend Jack Duarte with composing a piece to his memory and with offering it for free - music and soundfile - to everybody? According to how I behaved, there is only one answer: you are disturbed because this music, and its author, exist. Sorry, but I cannot please you at the point of erasing myself and my work. For your category of problem, there is only one healthy issue: to accept the fact that there are artists who create works and performances. Accept it peacefully, and do the same, if you can.
