Born in Florence (in 1938), Paolo Paolini is an outstanding figure of guitar player, teacher, musicologist and planner of cultural events.
Pupil of Alvaro Company at the Florence's Conservatorio Cherubini and legendary Andrès Segovia at Siena's Accademia Chigiana and Musica en Compostela in Spain, Paolini studied harmony with Carlo Prosperi, counterpoint with Riccardo Luciani, orchestral direction with Piero Bellugi and Sergiu Celibidache while also obtaining a Master in Humanities with his thesis on Musicology.
Teacher of guitar in the Conservatori di Stato since 1970 with posts at Bolzano, Verona, Milan and Florence, he has given frequent Master Classes in Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Spain and throughout Latin America, publishing over 40 volumes of guitar works, featuring critical editions as well as original works, for Ricordi, Suvini Zerboni and SPES.
Active internationally on the concert scene since 1965 dedicating himself to the contemporary repertoire as well as to the Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic genres, all faithfully executed on period instruments, as a solo artist or in chamber form has partecipated in many renowned international festivals, collaborating with artists and ensembles as

Nuccio D'Angelo
, Rosemarie Meister, Tiziana Tramonti, Laura Alvini, Albicastro Ensemble, Solisti Veneti and Modo Antiquo while recording for Vox, Ostali, Frequenz, Ricercare and Giulia.
Active as organizer of musical events he is also the founder and director of Ricercare (a permanent seminary on the art of lute and guitar: 1981-1990 ), Festival Musicale d'Autunno ( 1984-1988), Guitar Symphonietta (1986-1995) and the record company Quadro Frame, from 1993 to present.
