Biography

Nathasja van Rosse started her music studies at the age of 12 at the "Havo" Junior High School for Music and Dance in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

She went on to study classical guitar at the Royal Conservatory in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and successfully finished her Master Studies with Zoran Dukic at the Royal Conservatory of music in the Hague in 1997.
In Austria she met Prof. L. Witoszynskyj who became her most important teacher. She finished his rigorous solo and chamber- music course with great success.

Nathasja has attended master classes across Europe with renowned musicians such as David Russell, Leo Brouwer, Hubert Käppel and Pepe Romero and has been a finalist at various international guitar competitions such as Kutna Hora, Czech Republic, and Volos, Greece.

Her playing has inspired many composers such as Erik Otte (Netherlands), Hugo Gonzalez (Venezuela), Evis Samoutis (England/Cyprus) and Marc Sepic (Canada) to dedicate and write music pieces for Nathasja.

Her first solo CD was released in 2004, 'Nathasja van Rosse plays Music of South-America' (Mediatrack no. NVR 01CD1999) which impressed reviewers as well as renowned artists like Dale Kavanagh for her profound playing and fresh approach to compositions of Piazzolla, Ponce, Brouwer and Barrios.
